Welcome to my corner of cyberspace. My name is Melissa Rasmussen, and I live in Dallas, TX. I've lived here in the DFW area all my life. My parents moved to Texas from Michigan a few years before I was born. Most of my relatives are still in MI. My great-grandparents came to MI from Denmark. I allgedly still have relatives over there, although I have no idea how to find them. I've never been good at that genealogy stuff I guess.

I'm an amateur radio operator, although I'm not active these days as I used to be. I have two UHF repeaters in the DFW area. One of them is now on echolink.

Other interests include (but not limited to): computers, electronics, guns, Internet Relay Chat (you can find me on Undernet and esper.net), hunting down pirate FM broadcast stations, and most recently, several browser based games.

I have ~~two~~ three cats: Princess (the calico) and two black and white shorthairs: Rascal and Bandit. I also have a part Border Collie/Terrier. His name is Kirby.

I love animals and have had pets over the years ranging from hamsters to lizards, snakes, dogs, turtles, fish, and just about anything else I could find.

I've always wanted a Sugar Glider, but I think the cats might have other ideas about that.

I'm a broadcast engineer and I've worked in both TV and radio.

Currently I'm doing TV and loving it.

An added note about my blog: It used to be on LiveJournal, but I've since moved it to its own server. I'm using wordpress to personalize it more to my liking. This includes password protecting it.
